The State Council approved a total investment of 882 billion yuan for 22 urban subway construction planning

China has become the world's largest rail transit market. Great business opportunities are favored by domestic and foreign companies.
At the 2009 Beijing International Urban Rail Transit Exhibition held earlier, the urban rail transit development plan of China shows that by 2016, China will build 89 new rail transit lines with a total construction mileage of 2,500 kilometers and an investment scale of 993.73 billion. yuan. China has become the world's largest urban rail transit construction market. Nearly one trillion yuan of business opportunities have been favored by rail transit manufacturers at home and abroad, and they have seized market share. China's progress in independent property rights technology in the field of rail transit has also gained international recognition, and rail transit equipment has achieved gratifying results in its overseas markets.

Rail transit construction market is broad
China's urban rail transit construction is fast. From 1995 to 2008, the number of cities with rail transit in China increased from 2 to 10. The investment was pushed forward at a rate of more than 10 billion yuan per year. So far, 10 cities have opened 31 urban rail transit lines with a mileage of 835.5 kilometers. Recently, the State Council has approved the construction of subways in 22 cities, with a total investment of 882.03 billion yuan.
Nearly one trillion yuan of business opportunities bring a broad market space, and the most direct benefit is the vehicle manufacturing industry. By 2010, the number of urban railroads in China will reach 55 and the mileage will be 1,500 kilometers. More than 6,000 vehicles will be allocated. At present, the average vehicle is about 6 million yuan, and the vehicle investment alone will reach 36 billion yuan. Taking Beijing as an example, by 2015, Beijing will form a 561-kilometer rail transit network with a total investment of 166.96 billion yuan. Preliminary statistics show that the number of vehicles required in the initial stage of operation will be as high as 947, bringing a broad market to rail transit vehicle manufacturers.
The State Council has approved three indicators for subway construction: the urban population exceeds 3 million, the GDP exceeds 100 billion yuan, and the general budgetary revenue of local finance exceeds 10 billion yuan. Wang Qingyun, director of the Basic Industry Division of the National Development and Reform Commission, pointed out that there are nearly 50 cities in the country that meet the standards, and the future development of China's rail transit construction has great potential.

Urbanization promotes rail transit
The development of a national rail transit construction is closely related to its level of urbanization. In the past 20 or 30 years, China's urbanization process has accelerated markedly, and the urbanization rate has increased from 17.9% in 1979 to 45.68% in 2008. By the end of 2008, the total number of cities in the country reached 655. It is estimated that by 2020, China's urbanization rate will reach 60%.
The urbanization process has accelerated, and the number of motor vehicles has increased rapidly, resulting in traffic congestion. The number of private car ownership in China has surged from 285,000 in 1985 to 35.01 million in 2008. According to the international metropolitan vehicle car ownership saturation standard of 3 million to 4 million vehicles, the car ownership in major cities such as Beijing and Shanghai is approaching saturation. The population of Beijing has reached 17 million, and the total number of motor vehicles has exceeded 3.5 million, alleviating urban traffic congestion and developing rail transit is the fundamental way out.
In the world's major cities, rail traffic accounts for more than 50% of bus traffic, and some even reach more than 70%. With a population of 10 million in Paris, the annual passenger traffic is 1.2 billion passengers, and rail transit bears 70% of the bus traffic. This ratio is 55% in Moscow. London has a total of 9 subway lines with a total length of 500 kilometers and 3 million daily flights, which can meet the needs of 40% of travellers. The metropolitan area of Tokyo, Japan, has more than 280 kilometers of subway lines. The rail transit system transports more than 30 million passengers a day, accounting for 86% of all passenger traffic.
The construction of urban rail transit is of great significance to alleviating the traffic pressure brought about by the urbanization process. Xie Zhengguang, chairman of Beijing Metro Operation Co., Ltd., publicly stated that by 2015, the average daily passenger traffic of Beijing Rail Transit will be more than 10 million passengers, accounting for more than 50% of the total public transportation. According to the plan, the daily average passenger flow of Shanghai-2010 rail transit line has reached 6 million passengers, accounting for about 35% of the total passenger flow in the city.

Localization and overseas
As the world's largest urban rail transit construction market, China's localization of rail transit equipment is particularly important in the future development. China has clearly stated that the average localization rate of all rail vehicles and electromechanical equipment for urban rail transit projects should be no less than 70%. At present, China's research and development of independent intellectual property rights technology is very effective in the production of rail transit equipment.
At this exhibition, the Fangshan Line subway train model debuted. The localization rate of the vehicle is over 95%, and it is independently developed by Beijing Metro Vehicle Equipment Co., Ltd. A master's degree student in vehicle engineering at Tsinghua University praised the model. "Our domestic subway trains are relatively mature and have the same performance as other countries."
China's rail transit manufacturing companies are not only committed to localization, but also actively enter the overseas market. Recently, China North Locomotive Changchun Railway Vehicle Co., Ltd. and Brazil Rio Metro Company signed a contract worth about RMB 1.1 billion to provide subway vehicles for the Rio 1A line in Brazil. As a leading manufacturer of domestic rail vehicle R&D and manufacturing, China North Motor has exported its products to more than 40 countries and regions. In the past 10 years, it has exported 461 subway buses. The sales order of 350 million yuan of light rail train signed by CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. and the Izmir Municipal Government of Turkey marks the first time that China's independent intellectual property rights railway transportation equipment has been applied to the European market with high technical requirements. Chinese brands in the field of urban rail transit are moving to the international market with new technologies. (Kong Junbin Yan Bing)
