The selection of waterproof coatings follows four principles:
(1) According to the local maximum temperature, minimum temperature, roof slope and conditions of use, waterproof coatings with heat resistance and low temperature flexibility should be selected. In high temperature areas, waterproof coatings with high heat resistance should be selected to prevent runny; in cold regions, low temperature flexible waterproof coatings should be selected to avoid cold and brittle.
(2) According to the degree of deformation of the foundation, structural form, local annual temperature difference, daily temperature difference and vibration factor, waterproof coatings with appropriate tensile properties should be selected. For building roofs with large structural deformation, waterproof coatings with large elongation should be selected to adapt to deformation.
(3) According to the exposure degree of the roof waterproof coating film, the waterproof coating with the resistance to UV and heat aging should be selected. For exposed roofing, UV-resistant waterproof coatings should be used to increase the service life.
(4) When the roof drainage slope is greater than 25%, it is not advisable to use a waterproof coating with a long drying time.
