The photovoltaic power generation market was finally launched

China's new PV power generation capacity will exceed 1 million kilowatts during the year. Although China's photovoltaic power generation market has already started, there will be great development in the future, but after all, the photovoltaic power generation market is still in its “young age”. In terms of installed capacity and application market, it is far less than the nuclear power and wind power that belong to the same new energy. China's solar energy resources are very rich, and the average annual solar radiation is between 1050 and 2,450 KWH/m2. Among them, the area larger than 1050KWH/m2 accounts for more than 96% of the country's land area, and the annual solar radiation is equivalent to 170 million tons of standard coal. According to the spatial distribution of radiation, it can be divided into four regions. The average daily radiation in most areas is above 4KWH/m2, the highest in Tibet is 7KWH/m2, and the annual sunshine hours in two-thirds of the country are above 2000H. The amount of solar radiation is higher than 5000 MJ/m2. Compared with countries in the same latitude, similar to the United States, but better than Europe and Japan, regional advantages and resource richness are very suitable for the development of photovoltaic industry.

However, "the raw materials depend on foreign imports and the products depend on foreign markets." This "two-headed" dilemma has caused China's photovoltaic power generation industry to suffer for many years. Despite the smooth export success, there are also market chills, and relying on foreign countries is not a long-term strategy. However, after several years of development, the situation of China's PV industry “two heads out” has been fundamentally changed. At present, the processing base of raw material polysilicon in the photovoltaic industry has been transferred to China. It is expected that more than half of the domestic demand for raw materials will be produced domestically, and a large amount of production capacity will be released.

In the eyes of the industry, China's photovoltaic industry chain is very complete, from polysilicon raw materials to photovoltaic system installation, as well as glass panels, sealing membranes and other accessories, China has an advantage in the world. Therefore, China will undoubtedly become the main supplier of polysilicon. At the same time, with the launch of the domestic PV market, China's dependence on foreign markets will gradually weaken.

In particular, with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the four ministries of the National Energy Administration, the organization and implementation of the Golden Sun Demonstration Project and the Solar Photovoltaic Building Application Demonstration Project were mobilized and the first batch of 13 photovoltaic power generations were announced. The application of the demonstration area list, the photovoltaic power generation market is optimistic about everyone. The four ministries and commissions indicated that they hope to accelerate the large-scale application of domestic photovoltaic power generation by increasing subsidies, increasing the number of demonstration areas, and ensuring the operation of the projects on the grid, and strive to achieve an annual domestic application scale of no less than 1,000 megawatts after 2012.

However, photovoltaic power generation is a new industry after all. Jiang Qian, chief researcher of CIC's consultancy energy industry, said that due to the technological level, China has not been able to independently produce high-purity polysilicon, the core component of the solar photovoltaic industry, and can only rely on imports to make the industrial chain. The upstream is also outside. In the face of crystalline silicon material suppliers led by seven traditional foreign manufacturers, China's bargaining power is very low. This situation has led to the high cost of China's photovoltaic industry.

It is understood that with the recovery of the European photovoltaic power generation market, China's photovoltaic power generation industry is also under tremendous pressure in addition to opportunities. The Italian government has passed the bill and will no longer provide financial subsidies for photovoltaic power generation from 2017. At that time, photovoltaic power generation will be able to go online at a fair price in accordance with market mechanisms and compete with companies such as thermal power generation. Similarly, Germany's photovoltaic power generation installed capacity in 2010 increased by 18 million kilowatts, while last year's global new photovoltaic power generation installed capacity was only 40 million kilowatts.
