The latest development of high efficiency magnesium batteries in the United States

In December 2011, recently, according to the US investment research and consulting agency, the development of high-efficiency magnesium batteries was reported .
It is reported that Pellion Technologies of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's derivatives company is developing low-cost, high-energy dense rechargeable magnesium-ion batteries. Magnesium batteries are less expensive, more efficient, and safer than lithium batteries currently in common use.
It is understood that this research has the potential to break through the energy storage technologies of various electric and hybrid electric vehicles. Pellion will design a large number of computational materials and accelerate material synthesis and electrolyte optimization to identify new high-energy dense magnesium anode materials and compatible electrolytic chemical materials.
In addition, if the research is successful, the project is expected to develop a mass-produced magnesium-ion battery and determine the leading position of US technology in this regard.

Introduction: This product is white crystal powder, soluble in methanol and acetone, sparingly soluble in chloroform and ethyl acetate, insoluble in water. The product can exit in two different crystal modification(melting point at 200 ℃ to 230℃).White or off-white powder,melting point 175-177℃,flashing point 206℃.kindling point 273℃,stabilization for heat. Solubility (g/100g solvent):Acetone 10g,Chloroform 35g, Hexane 0.03g, styrene 5g,water 0.01g.



Applications: This product possesses the double structures of hindered phenol and acyl, and a function of anti-oxidation and metal deactivation. This product is a kind of metal deactivator,can be used either independently or together with antioxidant. It is applicable to polyethylene, polypropylene,polystyrene,polyamide, polyester and especially to the antioxidant used in phenolic resin. It is effectively preventing the polymeric substance from self-oxidation caused by transition metalion(the remains of the catalyst).  It protects polymers against oxidative degradation and metal catalyzed degradation during processing and in end- use applications. This antioxidant also provides long term thermal stabilization properties. This phenolic antioxidant is an excellent,non-discoloring, non-staining antioxidant and thermal stabilizer with outstanding metal deactivation properties. This product has the characteristics of low volatility and no coloring of products.
