October 2011 European Construction Survey

According to data from the construction industry released by Eurostat and the National Institute of Statistics, seasonal production in the construction industry in Europe fell by 1.4%. Only in October 2011 compared to the previous months, the European Union has fallen by 1.3%. In September 2011, construction products fell by 1.5% and 1.1% respectively. Compared with October 2010, in October 2011, the output of the euro zone fell by 2.8% and the EU zone decreased by 272.0%.

According to the data provided by member countries, compared with September 2011, the output of buildings dropped by 7 percentage points in October and then increased by 4 percentage points, which is relatively stable in the Czech Republic. Slovenia recorded the largest decline (-14.1%), Portugal (-9.7%), Poland and Romania (-1.5%), Sweden's highest increase (+1.1%), United Kingdom (+0.6%) and Germany ( +0.4%).

After falling by 0.7% in the euro zone in September and 1.3% in the Federal District, construction in the euro zone fell by 1.2%, while it fell by 1.4% in the Federal District.

After falling 1.6% to 0.5% in the previous months, civil engineering in the euro zone fell by 1.6%, and the federal district dropped by 1.4%.

Comparing the data between the member countries in October 2010, the construction completion volume in October 2011 decreased by 10% and then increased by 3%. Slovenia recorded the largest decline (-25.3%), Portugal (-11.3%) and Bulgaria (-9.5%), Poland (+9.4%), Sweden (+7.3%) and Germany (+1.6% ).

After the two districts rose by 0.3% and 0.4% respectively in September, construction in the Eurozone fell by 2.5% and 2.2% in the EU. After falling by 1.0% and up by 2.2% in the previous months, civil engineering fell by 3.6% in the euro area and 0.6% in the European Union.
