Geosynthetics static burst test (CBR method) test principle:

The sample is held between two clamping rings that press the sample vertically at a constant rate. The top pressure-displacement curve, bursting strength and bursting displacement were recorded.

Geosynthetics static burst test equipment:

The test equipment shall meet the requirements of Class 1 or Class 0 in GBT16825.1 and shall meet the following conditions:

Constant displacement rate of 1.45-55mm/min

2. Record top pressure and displacement

3. Automatic display of top pressure and displacement values.

Geosynthetics static burst test clamping system:

The clamping system should ensure that the specimen does not slip or break. The inner diameter of the clamping ring should be (150 ± 0.5) mm. As an example. When designing the clamping ring clamping surface, the distance between the inner edge of the clamping ring and the clamping zone (ie the starting point of the sawtooth groove) should not exceed 7 mm.

Geosynthetics static burst test data record Each test records the following:
One of the three effective bursting strength values, the unit is kN kN;
- If necessary, the displacement of the rupture measured from the pre-stress of 20 N to the time the specimen is broken, in millimeters (mm), to the nearest I mm
- If necessary, draw a top pressure versus displacement curve;
- evidence of slippage or breakage of the specimen occurring at or near the clamping ring.
