The two parties decided to hold an exhibition that showcases contemporary Chinese design during 2012 Milan Design Week. This theme exhibition will be held on the first floor of the Ansaldo Center in the Tortona area of ​​Milan from April 17 to 22, 2012. The exhibition area is about 500 square meters, and 80 works are expected to be exhibited.
This exhibition invites the famous Chinese designer Mr. Zhu Xiaojie to act as the curator. Reporter: How many times did you go to Milan to attend the Milan Furniture Fair? What is the biggest difference this time?
Zhu Xiaojie: This is the second time to participate in the Milan exhibition as an exhibitor. The biggest difference is that as a curator, I show the work of more than 50 Chinese designers to the world, not me alone, hoping to let people know that China does not lack design.
Reporter: As the curator of "Sit Down" China Contemporary Seat Design Exhibition, why did you choose the theme of "Sit Down" in the first place?
Zhu Xiaojie: The world is developing too fast, making people breathless; fast enough to make people feel like a machine; fast enough to make nature pay a huge price. Not only do humans need to take a rest and stop themselves, but the nature that nurtures humans also needs to take a rest and nurture wounds. It is best to sit down. Not to mention the chair—it is always an eternal topic for furniture designers.
Reporter: participate in the Milan Furniture Fair, what expectations and wishes?
Zhu Xiaojie: The works are provided by designers from southeast, northwest, China, men, women and children, different identities, and different regions. They tell their daily lives through chairs . The true state of life, with an aesthetic perspective. The Chinese people's historical aesthetics are really beautiful, natural is beautiful, and good is beautiful. I hope that through the understanding of Chinese designers, the world can understand the real China, not to mention the exhibition is a communication, so that the world can enhance each other's understanding and show their beautiful side. The impression of Chinese furniture to its peers in the world is a copy. I hope that through the exhibition "Sit Down", it will tell people that this is just a prejudice.
