In the winter, the weather turns cold, the weather features such as cold, rainy and humid occur, and the temperature drops significantly. At this time, the exterior wall coating project will encounter many wall problems during construction, how to solve the external wall engineering in winter construction. Troubled, as follows:

First, winter construction conditions and requirements

For coating applications, a qualified base layer has five basic characteristics: strong, smooth, dry, neutral, and clean. For the requirements of coating construction conditions; the construction environment temperature must be controlled above 5 degrees, and the environmental humidity should be controlled within 85%, otherwise it can not be constructed.

Second, paint construction conditions and requirements

For the construction of exterior wall coatings, some projects still need to be constructed when the temperature is lower than 5 degrees after entering the winter due to the construction period. To ensure the construction quality, the following matters should be taken into account during the construction period:

1. Basic inspection and treatment:

The base treatment is the basis of the coating process. The contents of the base treatment include: removing dust, oil and loose materials on the surface of the base layer; reducing or eliminating surface defects; and improving the physical or chemical properties of the surface of the base layer. In winter construction, when the temperature of the substrate is too high and the temperature is too low, many parts of the cement substrate have whitening. When the drying of the bottom layer is difficult to judge, the new substrate is generally plastered, and the maintenance period is more than 14 days in winter.

2. Putty construction:

For the construction of the coating system, the construction of the winter construction should ensure the drying of the substrate and the surface temperature of the wall before the construction. When the temperature is lower than 5 degrees during the daytime, try to construct on the wall with direct sunlight, and control the time of commuting as much as possible. Construction should be carried out after 9:30 in the morning and before 3:30 in the afternoon. The construction of the shabby wall should be controlled after 11:30 in the morning and before 2:30 in the afternoon. The minimum temperature should be high at night. At zero degrees, otherwise it can not be constructed to prevent the layer of putty from being frozen.

3. Polish the putty and judge the dry condition:

The putty must be completely dry before being sanded so that the putty is completely dry and the non-stick sandpaper and surface flatness are controlled. If the putty is not dry or frozen, the phenomenon of putty sticking sand will occur when grinding, and the surface is not easy to be smoothed.

4. Construction of the paint:

Before painting, confirm that the substrate is completely dry. The application temperature of the water-based paint should be controlled at more than 5 degrees. When the temperature is lower than zero during the dry film formation, the emulsion will be frozen and broken, losing the bonding and film-forming function. Make sure that the minimum temperature during film drying is not below zero. When the natural environment temperature is lower than 5 degrees, the wall construction with solar radiation should be selected as much as possible. The daily construction time should be controlled between 9:30 in the morning and 3:30 in the afternoon. The construction of the gutter wall should be controlled. Construction takes place at a higher temperature between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm. When the natural ambient temperature is lower than 5 degrees and the nighttime minimum temperature is below zero degrees and not lower than minus 5 degrees, a one-component oily acrylic primer oily acrylic topcoat may be used. Due to temperature, the oily paint will dry slowly during film formation. Therefore, the recoating time can be carried out in at least 24 hours before the next process.

5. Storage of paint:

Into the winter coating construction, the on-site storage of paint should be placed in the indoor classification code, oily paint and water-based paint should be placed in the same room, can not be placed in the same room, and ensure that the indoor temperature is above zero, the temperature must be heated when the temperature is below zero. Or use electric heaters to raise the indoor temperature. It is strictly forbidden to use an open flame to raise the indoor temperature. Unused paint in the construction should be placed indoors, and the frozen product will not be used again.

6. Paint film maintenance and finished product protection:

When the coating film reaches the surface for drying and optimum performance on the surface of the object, it takes 7 days at 25 °C at the standard temperature. When the temperature of the winter coating construction environment is generally low, the drying time of the paint film and the time for achieving the best performance are relatively extended. During this period, it is necessary to reduce the pollution and bump on the surface of the paint film as much as possible to avoid the effect of repair caused by pollution and bumping. Into the winter construction, according to the construction conditions on the site, it is necessary to take appropriate protective measures to avoid freezing the coating film. To ensure the smooth progress of the project coating quality and construction progress.

Gin Pole Operations

On the documentation side on things, operator will need adequate details depicting the planned operational configuration(s) for the complete gin pole system to be used including:

•Gin pole mast

•Top lifting block

•Load and tag line sizes/configuration (including use of heel block, max load position angle, max tag angle, tag arrangement, etc.)

•Basket and bridle attachment to gin pole and supporting structure including associated hardware and sling sizes/config

•All relevant details pertaining to jumping/lowering the pole into position

•All relevant details pertaining to tilting the pole for operation (use of luffing block, etc.)

•Any other relevant details based upon user`s planned operational configurations for assembly, setting, jumping, arranging, lifting, and/or removal of the system

As pole manufacture MARSHINE we only address the gin pole mast and allowable load and tag capacities / angles based solely upon the mast`s rated strength.  Affirming the pole was designed, built and load charts are in accordance with the ANSI/TIA-322 standard.  Its operator responsibility to ensure they are in compliance with all regulations related thereto.

Complete records of pole inspections and record of Magnetic particle inspection shall be performed on 10% of the welded connections every 10 years.

Annual inspections reports shall be maintained for a minimum of two years.

All gin pole operations must be in compliance with the latest revision of ANSI/TIA-322 and the OSHA CPL 2-1.36

 Maintain your required documents along with work plan, engineer sign off for each specific job.

ANSI/TIA-322 standard includes an impact factor of 1.7 for all gin poles using synthetic load lines.
